Mari and Track

Mari just competed in the regional track meet that was held here in Jackson. It was the first "nice" and "sunny" day we have had in a LONG time. Here's Mari running the 200 meter race. She's the one on the left in the long tights.

Mari and her friend Andy Phillips. (prom date...pics to come)

It was also senior recognition day and Kirk and I were there to support her.

Mari being recognized for her hard work in track! We are proud of our brownie!

Not Again..!!!

Yes...it's that time of year...CLEAN THE FOREST DAY!! The day we clean the forest around our house of debris and whatnot-mostly wood. The girls hate doing this job. But it has to be done. I can think of way worse things to have to do!

Happy Mother's Day!

Yes, Mother's Day was GOOD! I got this little baby from my honey baby. I LOVE this gadget. I have wanted a Kindle for a while, but could never break down and just buy it. Thanks Rick....for helping out the cause! First book read..."The Alchemist" by Paul Coelho...next on the docket...."Gertrude Bell: Queen of the Desert, Shaper of Nations" by Georgina Howell. Suggestions, anyone?

Good News Everyday!

As many of you know, we went down to Utah this past weekend. The good news began on Friday as my nephew Jamie Lunnen graduated from the University of Utah in English. We had a yummy celebration at his Mom's house (my sister, Valerie) in the afternoon.

Then, we were able to be at the sealing of Kelsey and Brienne in the Salt Lake Temple. Other good news this day included my nephew Jamie and his wife Tiffany welcoming their first child, Noah Kekauoha Lunnen!

WE LOVE THIS GIRL!!!! We love Bebe and have so much fun around this character!

It was fun to see and visit with cousins--Brolin and Sage

Kendis, Lea, Shanda and cute, BIG Benson!

We were able to see good friends that we haven't seen in like FOREVER! Amie Morris Bott (the kids babysitter from long ago) and her mom, Wendy Morris!

spent Mother's Day with my wonderful, big sis--Valerie (yes, she's a grandmother of FIVE!!!

the kids with their grandparents--always fun to be together!
And that's not all the good news...found out my niece Kailynn Cooper is PREGGERS and also she and her husband, Dallas just bought their first home in Dallas! Not to be outdone, my nephew Kyle (Kailynn's older brother) is ENGAGED to be married! It was a fun weekend full of good news!

Today...

Started out looking like THIS on our way to Idaho Falls to take Sage to the orthodontist. It was LOVELY weather for a good 45 minutes...and the next 45 minutes were spent dodging high winds!

I had NO IDEA what was going on in the passenger seat next to me because I was concentrating on driving!

Someone obviously had my "special" flat light driving glasses!

And they had some ATTITUDE going on !

The final result: BRACES!!

Mari came back from Cayman determined to participate in track her senior year. For missing like a month of practice, she is doing pretty well. She had a track meet here in Jackson today, so the girls and I went to support her. Here's what the high jump looks like....sometimes you miss it....
and then sometimes you make it! Yes, it was snowing today...ugh! Way to go Mari!

Happy Birthday Kirk!!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband...you make life so fun and unpredictable!

Kirk's a great dad...especially to sweet Lea.

He did NOT want a cake! But naturally, he had to have a little cake, because I LOVE cake!

The girls got him an Avatar DVD and he was thrilled.

Ty...the BYU grad!

We got back from Cayman in time for Ty's graduation at BYU. So, here's the facts: he actually graduated in December 2009. He graduated from the Marriott Business School with an emphasis in Entrepeneurship. (sp?) He was one of 6,174 people that graduated this spring. Has a job and is enjoying supporting himself. (LOL) Still trying to find his elusive (and brown) celestial mate. Looking forward to biking, running and swimming in his next triathlon. Here's our graduate....Ty Kekauoha Roney!

Elder D. Todd Christofferson was the speaker for commencement. Excellent advice!

J. Willard Marriott was the speaker for his college convocation. Another excellent talk on persistence and hard work.

Ty and his sisters

PROUD parents

and EXTREMELY PROUD grandparents!

We rounded out the festivities with a fun and wonderful dinner at Chef's Table. We were all well visited and well fed this weekend. Way to go Ty...we love you and are very proud of your accomplishments thus far.
