Steal of a Deal

Memorial Day is also a great day to find some great sales going on. Teton Village Sports is a great store and it was having some killer deals.

I took those that were in "need" of items and let them loose in the store to find what they needed. We bought 3 ski coats, one pair of ski pants and two hats (ok, we didn't NEED these, but they were like way cheap). What we should have paid for all these items was $1020.00 and what did I pay....$406.00 ! I'd say we scored a great deal. I was a very happy Mom.

Old West Days

Today was the Old West Days Parade in the town square. The Jacksonhole Theurapeutic Riding Association was participating in the parade and asked if Lea would like to ride a horse in the parade. I dropped Lea off at the fairgrounds and was looking forward to seeing her astride "Drey", her horse for the day. But when I saw her, she wasn't on "Drey"--in fact "Drey" was missing in action. Here's where I found Lea...on the back of another float with her riding instructor Donna and her horse-leader! Come to find out, "Drey" was not being a good boy...and so Lea couldn't ride him!

We watched the parade with "mine babies"...James and Jackson. Always fun to watch a parade with some little ones!

not so sure about this float....something about boobs and bling...I think they're from Idaho!

This was a cool parade entry...these are musher dogs and they had like 18 or so all tethered up and they were actually pulling this truck!

some of the usual stuff--always lots of horses

Welcome to Daffodil-ville

We've got thousands of these beauties naturalized all over our property. Whenever I'm with Kirk and we're driving "in" to our property, he says, "welcome to Daffodil-ville"! There is hope for spring here in Jackson!

We have all different varieties of daffodils.

they help to brighten an otherwise overcast day

and the interior fabric is so cute, I had to show as well

in case you didn't see it in the first few pics...here it is again!

Simba goes exploring

Simba, our wild cat LOVES to go outside and explore. We have a leash we use to do just that. Kirk usually does the honors and whenever Simba sees Kirk with the leash, he runs right to him.

Now, you'd think that the cat would run all over the place, but he doesn't. Just being outside is quite stimulating for him, so he sort of wants to stay in one place and take it all in. But Kirk is bored staying in one place and so he sort of pulls him around the yard.

Simba will be 3 yrs old in September. He weighs in at 16 lbs.

Can't be all that wild prancing around my daffodils!

I have LOTS of friends?

This friend I think is preggers!! She waddles all over my yard and in my ponds. Her favorite spot is definately right outside my kitchen window where I have a little bubbling spring.

Here's her and her husband (of course they are married!) He is a diligent hubby and escorts her wherever she desires. He never strays too far from her side.

This looks like a Young Men's Activity to me--unorganized and all over the place!

This friend wanted to make sure I got a good profile picture.

Prom

Mari's prom was last Saturday night. She went with a good friend that she's known since kindergarten, Andy Phillips. He's also an incredible long distance runner and is ranked #1 in the state. Here's Mari and the group of friends she went with to prom.

Thanks to some Mom who took these photos for me since Kirk and I were headed over to stake conference in Driggs!

Good looking couple--very sophisticated!

Mari and Track

Mari just competed in the regional track meet that was held here in Jackson. It was the first "nice" and "sunny" day we have had in a LONG time. Here's Mari running the 200 meter race. She's the one on the left in the long tights.

Mari and her friend Andy Phillips. (prom date...pics to come)

It was also senior recognition day and Kirk and I were there to support her.

Mari being recognized for her hard work in track! We are proud of our brownie!

Happy Mother's Day!

Yes, Mother's Day was GOOD! I got this little baby from my honey baby. I LOVE this gadget. I have wanted a Kindle for a while, but could never break down and just buy it. Thanks Rick....for helping out the cause! First book read..."The Alchemist" by Paul Coelho...next on the docket...."Gertrude Bell: Queen of the Desert, Shaper of Nations" by Georgina Howell. Suggestions, anyone?

Good News Everyday!

As many of you know, we went down to Utah this past weekend. The good news began on Friday as my nephew Jamie Lunnen graduated from the University of Utah in English. We had a yummy celebration at his Mom's house (my sister, Valerie) in the afternoon.

Then, we were able to be at the sealing of Kelsey and Brienne in the Salt Lake Temple. Other good news this day included my nephew Jamie and his wife Tiffany welcoming their first child, Noah Kekauoha Lunnen!

WE LOVE THIS GIRL!!!! We love Bebe and have so much fun around this character!

It was fun to see and visit with cousins--Brolin and Sage

Kendis, Lea, Shanda and cute, BIG Benson!

We were able to see good friends that we haven't seen in like FOREVER! Amie Morris Bott (the kids babysitter from long ago) and her mom, Wendy Morris!

spent Mother's Day with my wonderful, big sis--Valerie (yes, she's a grandmother of FIVE!!!

the kids with their grandparents--always fun to be together!
And that's not all the good news...found out my niece Kailynn Cooper is PREGGERS and also she and her husband, Dallas just bought their first home in Dallas! Not to be outdone, my nephew Kyle (Kailynn's older brother) is ENGAGED to be married! It was a fun weekend full of good news!

Today...

Started out looking like THIS on our way to Idaho Falls to take Sage to the orthodontist. It was LOVELY weather for a good 45 minutes...and the next 45 minutes were spent dodging high winds!

I had NO IDEA what was going on in the passenger seat next to me because I was concentrating on driving!

Someone obviously had my "special" flat light driving glasses!

And they had some ATTITUDE going on !

The final result: BRACES!!

Mari......JUMP

Mari came back from Cayman determined to participate in track her senior year. For missing like a month of practice, she is doing pretty well. She had a track meet here in Jackson today, so the girls and I went to support her. Here's what the high jump looks like....sometimes you miss it....
and then sometimes you make it! Yes, it was snowing today...ugh! Way to go Mari!
